This was for Onslaught, a deck that was pure hell for artists and art director alike. Dana Knutson was the AD for that project and a finer AD you'll be hard-pressed to find. The man still commands enormous loyalty from us freelancer-types. Anyway, what was I talking about? Ah yes, hell. My particular hell was nine cards in 13 days. Still haven't topped that, though one day I may be stupid enough to try. It beat the tar out of me. I'm no speed demon, like some of you young whipper-snappers out there. ;)

Painter, lovely Painter. This took about 8 hours. I am pretty sure I could hammer it out much faster now, for what that's worth.

Wow! Its wonderful to see this! I first saw this image in a how-to sort of book for fantasy worlds and I was enamored with it. It's great to see this on DA along with the rest of your gallery.
