Magic: the Gathering is a strategy-based card game where land (swamps, islands, forests, mountains and plains) constitute the backbone of your spellcasting power. Land cards are the most plentiful cards you can imagine, meaning they get seen by a zillion players. Getting to do land cards is a big deal. I still feel pretty happy with these paintings, though I (like any good artist) see all sorts of problems now. Whatever. 'twas a learning experience.
Drawn by hand, started in Painter XIII, finished in Photoshop 6.
