Old Goblin Mines by Fyreant Old Goblin Mines by Fyreant
I really loved working on Clout. Jesper gave us such artistic freedom. It was a lot like the early days of Magic, before a solid story arc and world had been conceived.

This is the entrance to an abandoned goblin mine. What they mined, exactly, I have no idea. Maybe freckles. Or acne! THERE'S a mine no one would want to explore!!

Cool, it would be considered a temple of being.

Lovely lovely art, superb texture and i love how you give it the illusion of being a real space with lighting from above

I was wondering where I'd seen this...and then I remembered it was in a 'How to Draw Fantasy' book I bought a while ago :] Heehee.

Lovely to see it again!

(you probably thidnt get why I wrote all of the explanations above and what I wanted to say is that a lot of people on devart write stupid comments just to be more popular and well Im not one of them I really liked your picture.Damn that was complicated)]

This reminds me of the book The Hobbit when Bilbo and his group of Dwarves get caught in the Goblin Mines. This is awesome and your gallery is amazing.

Awesome! I must say goblin mines are an excellent subject for concept art.

I agree!

Simple composition, not a lot of clutter, heck, not even much colour! But it's still got that sort of feel to it, like something is happening there and I don't know what. The way it's painted makes it look like something out of a fantasy book, and I like that. :)

I like this you painted this? It doesnt have alot of stuff but its still very good! It looks hard tho lol!

This is one of those moments when I sit back, sigh, and can't help but think "I wish I were the one who painted this".

Very kind of you to say, sirrah. I feel that way any time I visit a decent museum. Aim high, that's the best advice any of us can take.
GreenSprite Featured By Owner Jan 20, 2008
Nah, I don't usually get that from museums. I mean I appreciate the art, I enjoy it and learn from it, but only very few pieces strike really close to home. You got this one 100% right, to me, in a personal way :) "I am no man", but you're welcome.

Also, my jaw dropped when I saw your fav. Thank you!

Most welcome! I only fave stuff I dig. You earned it!

I think I know where you're coming from. That makes your words even more kind.

Hmm, this could either be a howling mine...or some sort of orcish den. Very cool. ^^

very cool

That's cool. The mine where I work, which is open pit, is on the site of an older, underground mine so we often expose old workings and tunnels and stuff. We don't get too many totemic skulls on poles, though. I wish we did.
