Artist's Comments

I took a hiatus from work during the summer of '99, instead spending a week at the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico painting my butt off. I had a blast, doing plein air for the first time in my life. There's no better way to learn how to develop environments than from Nature herself.

Yay oils, Gatorboard and a high desert climate!

It's a very nostalgic and impressionistic way to tap your red mana. I like how it seems as though viewed through frosted glass.

Beautiful! The colors and thick brushstrokes are stunning! I especially love the red throughout. This is extremely dreamlike and very very beautiful.

You must have seen them everywhere

Yes. Absolutely.

Man I have so much trouble with oils :/
Gouache I found to be a little easier. Looks like you work pretty thick?
