I really love this one. I can't possibly think of a reason why WotC decided to change this grand piece of art for the Shadowmoor version (not that the new art by Rob Alexander is bad at all, but this one's better and absolutely kicks ass IMO)
Congrats!
It's always amazing to view Magic art up close, too, as you can actually start to see the artist's "hand" in the piece, and how seemingly random brush strokes blend together into something completely convincing at a distance.
Anyway, enough gushing. Definite favorite.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.
Take care, dude... beautiful art here.

why do writers write? because it isn't there.

no honest poet can ever feel quite sure of the permanent value of what he has written: he may have wasted his time and messed up his life for nothing.

And I hate to say it but the new graphic for Magic cards does not make this picture justice. Which is too bad. It makes me wish there were a print of it, but I understand that there must be problems in doing that with art you did for Wizards...

"Though this be madness, yet there is method in't"
William Shakespeare -Hamlet Act 2, scene 2, 193206
Once I found a calendar with some illustrations, among which there were a couple done by D. Alexander Gregory, which used to be my favorite illustrator (I collected all of his art up to Kamigawa, then I stopped playing the game altogether). Do you happen to know him?
Heh, if there was an extensive art book which features this picture of yours, I'd surely buy it, no second thoughts.

One of these days I'll have an art book of me own, and when I do, I'll tell all!
