Fungus Humper by Fyreant Fungus Humper by Fyreant
Hey! Time for fresh art again. Semi-fresh, at least. This is a few years old but, after circulating in WotC's meat locker, it came out of cold storage and found itself on a Magic card! Morsel Hoarder is the name, I believe. This piece was for TSR's failed Hecatomb game. They wanted a floating jellyfish thing with brains inside it. You ask, you receive. It's one of those pieces that hits you in a Man-am-I-glad-it's-done sort of way. I wasn't on fire before, during or after. That's the way it goes sometimes.

(Mostly Painter, some PS.)

WOW, I have this card. I use it to this day, solely because the art is cool. It's remove a -1-1 and add a mana to you pool is cool too, but a 6/4 that matches my colors and has awesome art? It was too much to resist. =P

That is a very story there. I liked the concept of Morselhoarder, so it is a surprise that the art wasn't commisioned specially for it.

Oh, and by the way, looks like your Demon Dragon art has finally found a home on Sewn-Eye Drake.

I really like these sorts of things,
Landscapes that make you think,
Caus thats what i feel this is.
I know im wrong to say that, But it feels the creature is big enough to be a landscape on its own.
Interesting =]

A friend of mine and I have the entirety of the Hecatomb collection that was released in the US. Awesome game, but the 5-sided plastic cards make it a little difficult to shuffle the decks, lol.

i have this picture on my wall, i started noticing all the wonderful art from magic the gathering cards and started to cut the pictures out from the ones i specifically liked or could learn from artistically.
these rectangles of art are side by side, row by row, more than a few of them are work that you have done :P

Ah, the Lovecraftian splendor of Hecatomb. I guess the world wasn't ready for pentagonal cards.

That said, great art that was used for a fine card.

It was kind of hard to see as a magic card, but it is amazing this size. Now I can see all the intricacy in the beautiful cracked wall, and that almost amber texture of the blob-thing. (I guess you were going for the gelatinous look, but to me it looks to be made of amber or gemstone)
